Boxme MCP Server

Connect your Boxme account to an AI assistant and ask about your orders, inventory, and returns in plain language — no code, no exports, no API token to manage.

The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open protocol that standardizes how AI assistants connect to external data sources and tools. The Boxme MCP server implements it on top of the same Open API that powers your Boxme dashboard, so every answer comes from live data at the moment you ask.

Quickstart: paste a URL into your AI client, sign in to Boxme, grant access. Then ask questions.

What you can ask

You do not need to know which report answers your question. Ask the plain version:

"How many orders are stuck in packing at the Hanoi warehouse right now?"

"Show me the delivery journey for tracking number XXXXXXXX and tell me why it's late."

"Which SKUs expire in the next 60 days, and how many units of each?"

"Compare orders shipped this week against last week, broken down by courier."

"What would it cost to ship a 2kg parcel from HCMC to Da Nang with each available courier?"

"Anything unusual today?"

The real gain is the follow-up. A dashboard answers the question it was designed for; the second question is where the export-to-Excel loop usually starts. Here it is just the next sentence — "of those 40 delayed orders, how many are with the same courier?" — and each step reads live data.

One exception worth naming. order_estimate_shipping_fee is the only tool that sends a POST request, because the courier pricing engine requires it. It calculates a quote and creates nothing — no order, no booking, no charge.

Setup

The connector is hosted by Boxme. There is nothing to install.

claude.ai and Claude Desktop

Open Settings → Connectors.

Click Add custom connector.

Name it Boxme and paste the server URL: https://mcp-seller.boxme.asia/mcp

Click Connect. A browser tab opens for Boxme sign-in.

Verify by asking: "What Boxme tools are available?"

On a managed Claude plan, only a workspace admin can add a custom connector. If your organization has already added Boxme, pick it from the connector directory instead.

Then run any Boxme prompt — Claude Code asks for approval the first time each tool is used.

Other MCP clients

Any client that supports remote MCP servers with OAuth will work. Point it at the same URL and complete the browser sign-in.

Security

Read-only. It cannot create, modify, or cancel anything. That limit is enforced by Boxme, not by the AI client.

No stored secret. Sign-in uses OAuth, so there is no API token to leak or rotate. Remove the connector in your AI client to revoke access at any time, or contact Boxme support to have it cut off centrally.

Troubleshooting

The connector will not connect. Confirm the URL is exactly as published above, with no trailing whitespace. On managed plans, check whether your workspace admin has restricted custom connectors.

Sign-in succeeds but no tools appear. Fully restart the client — several MCP clients only load the tool list at startup. Then ask "What Boxme tools are available?" again.

A tool returns a permission error. Your Boxme account role determines which data you can read. If a colleague can run the same question and you cannot, ask your account owner to review your OMS permissions.

The assistant says it cannot create or modify something. That is correct behavior. The seller connector is read-only by design. Use the OMS for anything that changes data.

Numbers look different from a report you exported earlier. The connector reads live data. An export taken this morning is a snapshot; the connector is not.

FAQ

Does it cost anything? No. The Boxme MCP server is free for Boxme sellers.

Can it place or cancel orders? No. Wave 1 is read-only. Write capabilities are on the roadmap and will be opt-in.

Which AI assistants are supported? Any MCP-capable client with OAuth support. Claude is the tested path today.

Does Boxme train AI models on my data? No. The connector serves your data to the client you authorized, for the question you asked.

Is this a replacement for the Open API? No. The Open API remains the way to build integrations. The MCP server is for asking questions and getting answers — it reads and reports, it is not a second control panel.
